Oh hey! I’m Kate.
The Basics:
24 years young. Graduate of The College of William and Mary (Class of 2011). Distance Runner. Science Nerd. Former Endurance Sports Coaching Intern.
This coming fall (2013), I will be starting graduate school at the University of Virginia! I’ll be getting an M.S in Exercise Physiology, and my grand plan is to go straight from UVA to Physical Therapy school.
In five years you will all be calling me Dr. Kate Wason, M.S, D.PT
On that note, I am also currently recovering from major hip surgery. I’m a runner and so returning to that is my goal, but there won’t be much running talk around these parts for awhile yet.
I’m a huge fan of popcorn, coffee, dogs, earrings, and the East Coast. I’m a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan, no matter how much they suck (which is a lot…). I’m a sucker for “teen drama” shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars (I refuse to grow up), and despite going slightly crazy and dying my hair dark brown this past winter, I am actually a natural blonde.
Besides running and being a nerd, I also happen to be really good at skiing (both downhill and cross-country), kayaking, backpacking (aka roaming around in the mountains for days on end), and cooking. I was a hardxcore ballerina from ages 3-20 and I still choreograph pieces in my head all the time. I also like cycling, but I’m not even going to pretend for a second to be good at that
I’m extremely shy, but once I get to know and trust you, I’m wild and crazy and loud. I hate cold weather, and I hate hot weather. I love a piece of dark chocolate, but I hate chocolate flavored things. I live in Colorado (and love it here!), lived in North Carolina last year, went to college in Virginia, call Pennsylvania my “home”, and was born in Maine. And I don’t know where I want to go next!
So. I’m just a normal girl who likes to run. But I’ve got big dreams, lofty goals, and I won’t give up on them. I’ve already gotten over several HUGE, painful hurdles, and I’m sure there are more down the road. But hey, I‘m a tough girl, I can take it.
Want to know more? Pretty simple….just keep reading.
